30,000m2 Masterphalt ’P’ thin surface course
4,500 tonnes binder course
The existing carriageway was planed out in short lengths and the
binder course was laid the same day to minimise disruption in an already
busy area of the city. Following a short period of time the surface course
was laid, providing an uninterrupted mat reducing the amount of joints
and minimising any inconvenience caused.
The project included seven separate sections and night work, however the
works were completed within just 12 weeks.

Contract Period: 3 x 4weeks
18,000m2 Red Pigmented H.R.A.
18,000m2 Tensor Geotextile
Over a period of 3 years and 3 separate phases, Dowhigh completed the resurfacing of Lord street, Southport from Albert road to Lord street west.
The finished surface course included a ‘Red Pigmented HRA’, laid on a 60mm binder course further supported by a Geotextile ’Tensar’.
