Dowhigh has regularly combined existing maintenance contracts to perform both footway and carriageway reconstructions.

Albany road consisted of ‘Southport tiles’ through out the footways, however due to persistent third party vehicle damage the footway was reconstructed using a combination of relaying existing ‘Southport tiles’ and new Precast concrete flags.

Following two separate visits Dowhigh has successfully laid a new flagged pavement on the boroughs popular holiday resort.

The extent of the works included the paved area beneath the shop canopies. Throughout the construction phases all works where securely fenced off to protect both pedestrians and the works.

To avoid any disruption with local businesses Dowhigh performed night work whilst paving under the canopies between the hours of 6p.m. and 11p.m.
All works where completed within programme with
minimal disruption for both Christmas shoppers and sea side holiday makers.

 
Once the footways had been reconstructed the carriageway was resurfaced using 10mm close graded surface course 40mm thick on an average 60mm dense binder course.
